86% of Canadians surveyed feel more comfortable in next vehicle purchase or lease with high-quality debt protection in place

High-quality debt protection will increase confidence amongst Canadian consumers – research shows.

Ontario, Canada: Insurance Insight Inc’s recent marketing research data indicated that Canadian consumers would feel more comfortable making their next vehicle purchase or lease with a high-quality debt protection plan in place. The survey received over 1,100 responses from Canadians all over the country, each of whom is planning a vehicle purchase within the next two years. 

“With the uncertainty of today’s economic climate and Canadian debt at an all-time high, products like WALKAWAY Finance Protection and WALKAWAY Total Loss Protection are more relevant than ever. The data shows that 86% of Canadian consumers surveyed would feel more confident making automotive buying decisions if they come with high-quality debt protection,” said President and CEO Robert Varga.

Other key insights from the survey include:

  • 79% of respondents said they would feel more confident in their next vehicle purchase if it came with coverage that would make their monthly payments for them if something unexpected happened (e.g. job loss, critical illness, physical disability). 
  • 89% of respondents would spend up to $50/month on high-quality debt protection products.
  • 60% said the economy’s current state caused concern over their next vehicle purchase, and an additional 31% said they were worried about potential job loss.
